February: First Harvests and New Spaces in the Garden 🌿🍓

As winter continues, the first fruits of our ongoing work are beginning to appear in the garden. It’s a special moment that fills us with excitement and motivates us to keep improving our growing spaces.

🥕 First Harvests: A Sign We’re on the Right Path

This week we were able to harvest the first radishes in garden bed no. 3. Their vibrant color and intense flavor are a reward for the care given since sowing.
In garden bed no. 1, the snow peas are also starting to be ready for picking. The plants endured the cold well and are now producing tender, sweet pods—perfect for eating fresh or cooking.

🧹 Additional Work: Transforming the Sloped Area

Taking advantage of the drier days, we spent time reorganizing the sloped side area, where we had previously planted various pollinator-attracting plants such as aloe, lemon balm, rosemary, and other wild varieties.
We’ve now created two sub-levels or terraces where we planted sprouted strawberries, each measuring between 3 and 4 cm. This new layout not only makes better use of the land—especially in areas with more direct sunlight—but it will also make it easier to harvest and water the fruits in the future.

🍃 Continuing Maintenance and Fertilization

As in previous months, we continue the essential tasks that help keep everything balanced:

      • Control of invasive weeds
      • Cleaning of access paths and walkways
      • Application of organic fertilizer (fermented nettles) to nourish the soil in a sustainable way

Every small step—whether a harvest or a new planting—is proof of how consistent effort is transforming our space. And there’s still so much more to grow. We move forward! 👣
